Creative Projects for Social Impact

Our projects use creativity to bring artists, educators, and changemakers together to foster learning, collaboration, and social impact. Through partnerships, learning programs, and national initiatives, we build capacity, share knowledge, and strengthen communities. Each project prioritizes accessibility, collaboration, and the belief that creativity can drive meaningful social change.

Featured Partnership: Public Art & Accessibility Research

We are contributing to the national, multi-year Public Art & Accessibility Research Project, led by AccessArt/ArtMaps.ca in Toronto. From Halifax, we help expand the project’s scope and geographic reach, incorporating diverse perspectives and experiences to support a more comprehensive understanding of accessibility in public spaces for people with disabilities.

The project is funded by the Canada Council for the Arts and the City of Toronto. As a contributing partner, we bring additional expertise and perspectives to advance inclusive and equitable practices in the arts.

Access Art

Learning Program for Creative Impact

We offer arts-based learning experiences for artists, cultural workers, and mission-driven creatives working at the intersection of art, justice, and community. Our programs, including workshops, talks, and collaborative events, help participants strengthen their creative practice, expand social impact, and connect with others committed to meaningful change.

Led by practicing artists and community educators, these spaces prioritize accessibility, collaboration, and real-world application. Programs are offered free or on a sliding scale whenever possible to ensure equitable access.

Practical Skills and Social Change

Our programs provide tools and insights for leading, collaborating, and innovating through socially engaged art. Depending on the program, offerings may include in-person gatherings, live online sessions, or on-demand experiences. Each program combines creative activities, presentations, and guided discussions to support skill-building, reflection, and meaningful connections.

Our Educational Values

  • Art as Pedagogy: We treat creative practice as a form of learning, teaching, and community dialogue.

  • Equity & Access: We’re committed to making arts education financially and culturally accessible.

  • Skill + Reflection: Our workshops combine tangible tools with space for critical thinking and imagination.

  • Peer Learning: We believe education happens in community, not hierarchy.

  • Led by Artists: All facilitators are practicing creatives grounded in real-world work.

Creative Impact Forum

Launching in 2026, the Creative Impact Forum will be a national gathering for artists, educators, cultural workers, and mission-driven creatives. It builds on the 2024 Supernova Conference, a one-time event produced by our founder through a previous social enterprise, to foster collaboration and share practical tools for creative initiatives.

The Forum is designed to cultivate partnerships, engagement, and the strengthening of networks among artists and cultural leaders across Canada.

Through a mix of education, celebration, and collaboration, the Forum will bring participants together to connect, reflect, and explore the possibilities of creativity as a force for meaningful change.

What to Expect

  • Keynotes & Panel Discussions: Insightful conversations with thought leaders and practitioners.

  • Live Performances: Showcasing creativity in action.

  • Reflection & Connection: Time to collaborate, network, and envision collective impact.
