​Current Opportunities

Director (Board Member)
Type: Volunteer

​​Board members play a meaningful role in shaping the direction of CCIA. They contribute to governance, strategic thinking, and the long-term sustainability of the organization while helping to nurture a vibrant, inclusive creative community.

Being part of the CCIA Board is both an opportunity for growth and a responsibility.

Members often describe the experience as a chance to:

  • Build leadership, governance, and non-profit experience in a supportive environment

  • Learn through real-world decision-making, collaboration, and shared problem-solving

  • Connect with a diverse, mission-aligned team across arts and community practice

  • Participate in community-building and occasional social or networking gatherings

  • Contribute to projects that strengthen resilient, inclusive creative communities

  • Support initiatives that champion accessible and equitable creative spaces

What Board Membership Involves

  • Attend quarterly board meetings (virtually or in-person)

  • Participate in discussions, decisions, and strategic planning

  • Provide governance and oversight in support of our mission

  • Support organizational growth, partnerships, and community relationships

  • Join 1 committee or short-term working groups as needed

  • Contribute to fundraising and outreach efforts as appropriate

  • Help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment

 

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome individuals who are:

  • Interested in inclusive arts, culture, and community-building

  • Willing to contribute time and follow through on commitments

  • Curious about or experienced in non-profit governance, arts, community development, fundraising, outreach, leadership

  • Thoughtful, collaborative, and open to diverse perspectives

  • Guided by integrity, accountability, and care for community impact

Time commitment: approximately 3–5 hours per month

 

Formal board experience is not required, we value a range of lived experience, professional backgrounds, and ways of thinking.

Event Support 

  • Help set up, run, and take down events

  • Assist with guest registration, logistics, and audience engagement

  • Flexible hours depending on event schedule

Fundraising & Outreach 

  • Support campaigns, donor relations, and community engagement

  • Help spread the word about CCIA programs and initiatives

  • Bring creativity, connections, and enthusiasm to grow our impact

Workshop Facilitator

  • Lead or co-facilitate a workshop from within one our core programming streams (find out more)

  • Use art as a teaching and engagement tool to spark dialogue and learning

  • Help participants explore creativity, reflect critically, and build community

  • Bring expertise, passion, and an inclusive approach to facilitation

Who We’re Looking For

  • Volunteers must be 19 years of age or older

  • Passion for inclusive, creative communities

  • Ability to commit time and energy to your volunteer role

  • Skills or experience relevant to your chosen area

  • Team players who value collaboration, kindness, and flexibility
